You may be thinking why is renewing my mind so important? Why does it concern me? Better yet what does it even mean to renew my mind? Well, it is my goal to explain to you what renewing the mind really is and why it is so important. Alright, here we go… before we can fully understand what renewing the mind is we need to have an understanding of how we are put together. The bible says

 we are made up of three different parts, spirit, body, and soul.

 Our mind resides in our soul and our conscience resides in our spirit. Confused yet? Don’t worry I’ll explain.  Let me lay it out for you.

1. Soul =   Mind, emotions, personality etc.

2.Spirit = Conscience.

3. Body =  Contains the soul and spirit. The body is kind of like a purse or a backpack, its purpose

                  is to carry around the contents inside.

Now let me add one more thing to the mix, as you know the body, better known as our‘flesh’ is extremely weak! For this reason the flesh and spirit are always fighting against each other because the flesh never wants what the spirit wants.

The flesh always wants what feels good, namely sinful things. On the other hand, the spirit desires to be pleasing to God. Now can you see why the flesh and spirit don’t agree on anything?
